Ed Balls

We invited Children, Schools and Families Secretary, Ed Balls, to view and comment on our School 4 Dads campaign video - and to tell us some of the ways in which the Government is supporting families during this time of recession. This is what he said:

"Dads Space is just one of a number of organisations that we are funding so that they can give advice to families having problems during the recession. We can all feel a little uneasy sometimes about asking for help, but when things are difficult it is good to know that there are organisations out there who can offer support through the hard times. It is really tough for families when the main breadwinner loses their job or there is a threat of repossession. This can put an enormous strain on relationships. But we are determined not to leave families to cope alone. I am delighted that the £3 million of additional funding I announced earlier this year is going towards innovative services like www.dads-space.com".
