Try setting up a penalty shot scenario with your kids!
Changing or moving schools (
a big promotion) can be a stressful time for you and your kids—but there are some ways to ease the anxiety. Here are the Dads Space top tips:
Visit the new school: This is good advice for transition to big school or to secondary school. Smaller children have big imaginations, without actually seeing their new school before they go, they might imagine it to be big, scary and full of monsters. With older kids it’s kind of the same (though usually without the monsters); sometimes it’s just easier to cope if you know your new surroundings before you dive into a new and different daily routine.
Talk to your little learners: even though they might be reluctant to share their fears (especially older kids who are making the transition to secondary school), if you can reassure them with regard to their own personal anxieties about their new school, it’ll likely make them feel happier about going.
Good luck charm: While a rabbit’s foot is a bit gruesome, giving your child a small token (like a lucky red hairclip or a special pencil case) may give them an little bit of extra confidence on their first few days at school.
