Dads group information for City Talk FM listeners

David Dowling, from the Yew Tree Dads Club

This morning (Wednesday 10th June) Dads-Space.com appeared on Liverpool's City Talk FM's breakfast show, talking about male post-natal depression. If you missed it, you can hear it using their listen again service. Our chat starts at roughly 2hrs 20m on the Wednesday show.

On the show we gave out some info on some great dad groups in the Liverpool area - here are those details in full:

Yew Tree Dads' Club
Blueberry Park School, Maidford Building, Liverpool, L14 9DU

According to the Liverpool Echo, David Dowling's group has been running for 9 months now. They arrange sports, arts and crafts and other activities, as well as trips out.

Sat-a-Dads
Croxteth Children's Centre, Altcross Road, Liverpool L11 0BS

A dads group that meets on the first Saturday morning of every month at the Communiversity - it is exclusively for Dads and Male Carers and their under-fives.  Lots of fun activities to keep the little one's occupied including arts & craft, sports etc.  Contact Paul at the centre here: croxtethcc@liverpool.gov.uk

Hit the Ground Crawling
North Liverpool Connexions, Utting Avenue East, L11 1DQ

A new mentoring scheme which offers support for young dads and dads-to-be. The project offers a one-off session for small groups of expectant young fathers where they can spend a morning or afternoon with two or three other young men who have become fathers in the last 3-9 months, and their babies. A trained facilitator is present at the group, but there is no set curriculum. Instead the expectant fathers are simply given the opportunity to discuss their thoughts and concerns with other young fathers, and have the chance to see practical baby-care in action
