After years of ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’, Latin pop sensation Ricky Martin has announced that he’s just become a Dad to two healthy twin boys. "The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky's full-time care. Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children." said a statement from his representatives.
Ok, so ignoring the fact that Ricky has already spent a good few years out of the public spotlight already, it’s great to see a new Dad taking his paternity leave, and putting his kids before his work. Admittedly, the star can afford to take significantly more time off than the rather measly two weeks most Dads get, but at least it’s a better example than that set by our own ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair, who decided to cut back his schedule rather than take his leave when his fourth child was born.
