Dear Dad,
Just wanted to tell you how much you mean to me. You've always looked after me, from when I was small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, to the present day, when it'd probably prove a bit more difficult.
I know I probably haven't always been the easiest son to look after, but you've always done your best - you've offered me shelter when I needed it, money when I'd messed up my financial situation, and support when I'd messed up my domestic situations.
You've never been judgemental, and you've always been willing to give advice, not always giving me an easy ride, but usually telling me what I needed to hear, even when I didn't want to hear it.
You've been strong for me when I couldn't be, and I've always tried to follow your example, even when it was difficult.
You've always given me something to look up to, and if any of my kids are even 10% as proud of me as I am of you, then I will be a very happy man indeed.
I'm sorry I can't be there on Father's Day, but I'll definitely raise a glass to you on the day. I love you so much, and I want you to know, that I'm so proud to have you as a dad.
Love, now and forever,
Jon
